Our Services

We provide comprehensive IOR services, including firestopping inspections, specialty systems assessments, and regulatory compliance evaluations. Our expert team ensures projects meet all applicable standards, with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Specialized Firestopping Expertise

Specialized training is required for Third-Party Firestop Special Inspectors. We hold a Premier Certification from the International Firestop Council (IFC), a program that is formally recognized by the HCAi as providing sufficient and suitable firestop knowledge.

Pali Group Services offers a one-stop solution for Inspection of Record (IOR) inspections, which includes firestopping special inspections. This integrated service eliminates the need for hiring a separate special inspection company, streamlining your inspection process and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

What is an IOR?

An "IOR" in the context of HCAi stands for "Inspector of Record," which refers to a certified inspector specifically approved by the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAi) to continuously monitor and inspect all phases of a hospital construction project, ensuring it adheres to the approved plans and building codes throughout the process; essentially, they are the primary responsible party for overseeing the construction quality of a hospital building.

    Key points about an IOR:

  • Certification required:
To be an IOR, an inspector must pass a specific certification exam administered by HCAi.
  • Continuous Inspection:
The IOR is responsible for actively monitoring all aspects of construction on a hospital project, from foundation laying to final finishes.
  • Compliance with codes:
Their primary duty is to verify that all construction work complies with the California Building Standards Code and OSHPD regulations.
  • Reporting responsibility:
The IOR must report any discrepancies or potential issues to the architect or engineer in charge of the project.

The Role of Inspections in Healthcare Construction: HCAi/OSHPD Compliance

In healthcare construction, ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of a facility is paramount. Inspections play a crucial role in this process, particularly for projects subject to oversight by HCAi (California Department of Health Care Access and Information), formerly OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development).
